Welcome Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, or past traumas? I am here to help you find your way through distress toward the life you envision. Together we will highlight your strengths, deepen self-compassion for your wounds and conflicts, and develop ways for you to live your life with greater peace and clarity.
Mood and Anxiety If you feel depressed or anxious, I will introduce you to treatments such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), an approach that helps clients get unstuck from their negative thoughts, accept themselves, and lead more value-driven lives. We will also: work on healthy coping skills to relieve daily symptoms; look at your attachment style and how it affects your mood and anxiety level; and discuss the way you feel inside your relationships. We will ask: Can I accept my relationships as they are? What confrontations do I want to have? How can I better enjoy the important people in my life? How can I end a relationship when I need to?
I am certified in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) by the Seleni Institute of NYC. I can help you navigate the sensitive perinatal timeframe by guiding you toward self-reflection and healthy coping skills as you move through it.
Infertility and Pregnancy Loss I am certified in Infertility for Mental Health Professionals by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and Perinatal Loss and Grief by the Seleni Institute of NYC. My specialty in infertility and pregnancy loss comes by way of my own life experience with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), fertility treatments, and pregnancy via treatment. Perhaps you want to discuss fertility treatments, adoption, or a child-free life. If you have had a miscarriage or stillbirth, I am here to provide sensitive support and guidance.
Relationships and Sex I treat spouses, couples, and those in other kinds of intimate relationships as they process conflict and growth. I also assess and treat sex issues, working with clients on desire discrepancy and ways to increase intimacy through communication and exploration. Our therapy will be a safe space for you to talk about things such as kink, BDSM, polyamory, and your sexual preferences and identities.
Alcohol Use I provide a nonjudgmental treatment of alcohol-use issues that focuses on curiosity, motivation for change, and practical alcohol-intake tracking tips. If you are questioning your drinking habits and are open to taking steps toward moderation or abstinence, we will co-create a plan for you.
How I Help My approach is warm, inclusive, and nurturing while also confrontational. I will help you confront, but I will also help you take good care of your good self. We will look at how past events and important relationships affect you, and we will co-create a toolbox for you filled with techniques derived from ACT, psychodynamic theory, mindfulness, CBT/DBT, and creative arts therapies. No matter which approach we use, self-compassion will be our first step. I hold a BC-TMH, which means I am Board-Certified in TeleMental Health, uniquely trained in nationally established best practices for delivering traditional psychotherapy/counseling through technological means. All of our sessions will take place via private video calls.
